Tennis Xpress PosterWe are planning to run two tennis Xpress courses for 6 weeks each starting in November. One will be on Monday evenings at 8:00pm for 1.5hrs aimed at people who want to improve their basic tennis technique in a group. The other will be on Thursday evenings at 7:30 pm again for 1.5 hrs but will be for intermediate and advanced players.

The Tennis Xpress programme is an LTA designed initiative to improve your tennis skills and has components suitable for all levels. The courses will be given by our coach Ben Obong who has given these courses with success on previous occasions both at our club and elsewhere.

The committee are keen to encourage tennis development in the club and particularly to help the new members who joined this year. With this in mind the committee decided to subsidise the courses as follows:

Members will pay £20 for a 6 week course

Non-members will pay £68 for a 6 week course

If you would like further information please contact Ben at benjaminobong@icloud.com. Ben will in any case tailor his course to the skills of the participants.

We would like an indication of interest as soon as possible to complete our plans so please reply now to our captain Christian at christian.bryan@blueyonder.co.uk – this is not a commitment but only an expression of interest at this point.

Tennis Xpress:

Tennis Xpress is a beginner adult introductory coaching course for players who want to learn the basics of the sport. Designed as a 9hrs course over 6 weeks, Tennis Xpress is centred on the use of modified equipment such as slower bouncing green and orange balls to ensure that players quickly learn the game of tennis; being able to serve, rally and score by the end of the course.

Tennis Xpress Plus:

Tennis Xpress Plus is for advanced players, or players who have played at a moderate level in the past and want to pick up where they left off. It runs off the same syllabus as Tennis Xpress, but is a little more intense and tends to lean more towards tactical, rather then the technical side of the game.
